Previous seasons’ take on goth and catholicism combined was softened for autumn to a much more bohemian expression at Givenchy. Riccardo Tisci already brought up a gypsy theme for Resort 2013, however more structured if compared to this season’s collection that was more romantic in terms of both shape and colours. He said he for the collection had adapted the idea of recycling, as he had looked to earlier collections for inspiration, resulting in the most fun collection he had done in his eight years at the post. It all resulted in what he would call gypsy, meaning lots of paisley patterns and frilled skirts, often in vibrant autumn hues of orange and red (that even recurred in a fire print) as well moss green and brown. Sometimes decorated with biker details that would give the collection an edge. But besides all these new elements, the collection of course included typical Tisci trademarks of printed sweatshirts and the narrow skirts.
