Proenza Schouler SS14/NYFW

Proenza Schouler is usually a personal favourite, but this collection had something missing. It was an excellent collection, well tailored, interesting choices of materials, sleek but also androgynous silhouette and some really, really incredible pieces. But that strong Proenza Schouler signature was missing, and if these pieces had gone missing, not many would have been identified as Proenza Schouler pieces. The tailored and more structured pieces such as the coats and suits have more of that strong signature though.

Altuzarra SS14/NYFW

13/09/14 - 06:06

CR-Fashion-Book-Daniella-Rech-SS14-02

The spring/summer collection from Altuzarra for 2014 is both effortless but also tailored and neat. Perhaps it is that combination of basic office wear such as blouses and knee length skirt but with details such as high slots and infinite necklines that makes all the difference. These are pieces that the notorious editors will wear.

The striped pieces took the role of day wear and then metallic pieces entered and got to represent evening wear. Looking back at the start of the show and the first few pieces the other half of the collection is proof to the fact that the red thread in this SS collection is missing, but one on one these pieces are so good no one seems to notice.

Alexander Wang SS14/NYFW

Alexander Wang is always one of the most anticipated shows during NYFW, him being the baby in the business and all. But the man who became the designer of Balenciaga has a lot of qualities beyond his age and he proves himself again and again. This collection was not the most jaw dropping work of his, but there is something so calm and self assure about it, – we want every piece of it.

Marc by Marc Jacobs SS14/NYFW

Marc by Marc Jacobs, or everything Jacobs really, is always a treat. Collections are dramatic, theatrical and almost always entertaining. This collection had a strong theme with silky appeal and drama queen tendencies. Some pieces also got us thinking about slow sports like bowling, curling and golf (no pun intended). The few sequin pieces screamed 80s mania and it is all about not hiding for the Jacobs family…

Diesel Black Gold SS14/NYFW

13/09/11 - 11:30

dieselblackgoldSomehow this collection reminded us of that ‘whenever wherever’ Shakira video, something we do not object. The pieces had a more bohemian feel than Diesel Black Gold have ever had and it goes very well with the studded leather brand. Those elements where also very visible with studs pretty much everywhere but also a silhouette that was both flared and loose. The colours where hard to define because of the white shades that had some green, pink, grey and blue tones, but the black part of the collection was favorable.

View the gallery below for more of our favourite pieces from the collection.
