‘Trends’
The pieces, the atmosphere, the lack of surprises; there was definetely something inadequate this season. Generally speaking, pulse was missing from the shows. Not that it was´nt any good, some pieces were of course so craveable I´d donate my kidney for it. But it was literally missing an increase in pulse with pieces, athmosphere and surprises that actually make your heart race.
The designers have been creating non stop the past couple of years, and the tempo is abnormal. Perhaps this is a side effect of our times materialism. We want stuff, new clothes and new impressions twentyfourseven. Maybe the designers find it hard to create and reinvent when the creative period is always in full speed? It would not suprise me. I mean, apart from spring, summer, fall and winter there are also capsule and resort collections and of course all the famous designer collaborations (that are getting hard to keep track of). Do we ever get enough?
Somebody who seems to do the opposite to everybody else and therefore is a constant surprise, is the mother monster, miss Lady Gaga. A couple of years ago she started shocking us only wearing panties, then continued with some crazy glasses and moved on to wearing raw meet. One could assume there is not much she can do to keep surprising us. But what did she do at the launch of her perfume during NYFW? Well, first and perhaps most importantly her perfume did not smell like blood and semen as Gaga herself once claimed. Secondly she looked beautifully natural, resembling an “ordinary” greek godess. Gaga may in fact be the proof that we are taking a step back in fashion, maybe we are cooling it off, taking it down a notch. And perhaps that is not such a bad idea.
In february 2013 the fashion month is in full bloom again, and we look forward to an increase in pulse. But up till then we will be reporting from a bunch of exciting fashion events to keep you posted on the most important things in the fashion business…

Tommy Hilfiger F/W 2012
The most obvious trend is the use of Burgundy/Bourdeaux for the fall collections, mix it with leather and you are spot on!

Wild eyebrows och hair and a very natural make up at Altewai.Saome by Max Factor.
